Joseph Schenk has served as chairman of the board of directors since October 2017 and as a member of the board since April 2008. Presently, Mr. Schenk is a Managing Director at Westaim Corp, a Toronto-based investment firm. Prior to Westaim, Mr. Schenk worked with The Carlyle Group as a senior advisor beginning in 2012. Prior to that, Mr. Schenk served as chief executive officer of First NY Securities, LLC, a principal trading firm, beginning in June 2009. From June 2008 to March 2009, Mr. Schenk served as chief executive officer of Pali Capital, Inc., a financial services firm. From January 2000 until December 2007, Mr. Schenk served as chief financial officer and executive vice president of Jefferies Group, Inc., a full-service investment bank and institutional securities firm. Mr. Schenk also held various senior management roles at Jefferies beginning in 1997.
Glenn H. Stevens has served as our president, chief executive officer, and member of our board of directors since June 2007. From February 2000 to May 2007, Mr. Stevens served as our head of trading. From June 1997 to January 2000, Mr. Stevens served as managing director, head of North American sales and trading, at National Westminster Bank Plc (which was acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland Group in 2000). From June 1990 to June 1997, Mr. Stevens served as managing director and chief forex dealer at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Mr. Steven's Wall Street career began in 1984 at Bankers Trust Company. Mr. Stevens received a B.S. in finance from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. in finance from Columbia University.
Since 2007, Mr. Bevilacqua has served as a Managing Director. Prior to joining VantagePoint, Mr. Bevilacqua served from 1998 to 2003, as ExecutiveVice President of E*TRADE Financial in charge of Corporate Development and Strategy. While at E*TRADE, Mr.Bevilacqua founded ArrowPath Ventures, an early stage venture capital fund that was later spun out. Mr. Bevilacqua served as the Managing Partner of ArrowPath from 2000 through 2007. Mr. Bevilacqua currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of WageWorks, Inc., Edo Interactive, Inc., InnoPath Software, Inc, Livescribe, Inc and EndPlay, Inc. Mr. Bevilacqua received a B.S, in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California in San Francisco (Hastings College).
Christopher W. Calhoun has served as a member of our board of directors since October 2010. Since 2015, he has served as the chief executive officer of SciVantage, a financial technology company. From April 2009 to October 2010, Mr. Calhoun served as our part-time senior advisor. From June 2008 to April 2009, Mr. Calhoun served as our managing director. From December 2005 to July 2008, Mr. Calhoun served as our chief operating officer. From November 2000 to December 2005, Mr. Calhoun served in various positions with us, including vice president of operations and vice president of business technology. From March 1992 to March 2000, Mr. Calhoun served in a number of executive level roles, including chief operating officer, at FNX Limited, a privately-held provider of trading and risk management solutions to the international financial community. Mr. Calhoun currently serves as the executive director of Longview Project, Inc. and as a member of the board of directors of SciVantage, Inc. Mr. Calhoun received a B.S. in finance and an M.B.A. from La Salle University.
Alex Goor has spent 20 years building electronic financial markets. He has held both technical and general management leadership positions across a range of market leading, innovative companies. Mr. Goor began his career as the Chief Strategy Officer of Datek Online Holdings Corporation, where he supervised all business development efforts. After Datek, Mr. Goor became co-CEO and CIO of Instinet, an institutional agency brokerage servicing the largest global asset managers, where in 17 months he and his team increased the firm's value 6 times. From 2010 to 2015, Alex was the Chief Information Officer of Interactive Data Corporation (IDC), a Silver Lake and Warburg Pincus portfolio company. In 2015, the group sold IDC to ICE/NYSE for $5.3 billion. Mr. Goor currently is a trustee of Saint Ann’s School in Brooklyn and on the boards of Dealogic, a Carlyle company, and Insurity, a TA Associates and General Atlantic company. He has served as a director on the Board of Directors of BondDesk. He received his Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Mathematics from Columbia University in 1995, Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude.
Christopher S. Sugden has served as a member of our board of directors since April 2006. He is Managing Partner and Chairman of the investment committee of Edison Partners’ growth capital fund. Since May 2007, Mr. Sugden has served as a general partner of Edison Partners. From April 2002 to May 2007, Mr. Sugden held various positions with Edison Partners, including partner and principal. From January 1999 to December 2001, Mr. Sugden served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Princeton eCom, a privately held financial services software company. Mr. Sugden currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Billtrust, Inc., Business Financial Services, Inc., Folio Dynamix, Inc., PHX Inc., Operative Media, Inc., Trader Tools, Inc., and SciVantage, Inc. A certified public accountant, A certified public accountant, Mr. Sugden received a B.A. in accounting, with honors, from Michigan State University.
Peter Quick has served as a member of the board of directors since December 2006, during which time he served as lead independent director from 2008 to 2010 and chairman of the board from December 2010 through October 2017. Since May 2005, Mr. Quick has acted a private investor managing a diversified portfolio of public and private investments. From July 2000 to May 2005, Mr. Quick served as the president and member of the board of governors of the American Stock Exchange, or AMEX. Prior to joining the AMEX, Mr. Quick served from January 1983 to March 2000 as president and chief executive officer of Quick & Reilly, Inc., a leading national discount brokerage firm, which was acquired by Bank of America. Mr. Quick currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Medicure, Inc., a publicly held pharmaceutical company, the board of governors of St. Francis Hospital and Good Shepherd Hospice and the board of directors of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation at the University of Virginia. Mr. Quick received a B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Virginia.
Mark Richards has served as a member of GAIN’s board of directors since January 2018. An industry veteran with over 30 years of global experience in Banking and Financial Services, Mr. Richards currently is the Chief Executive of IPGL (Holdings) Limited, a major corporate holding company based in the UK, and also serves as the Chairman of Exotix Holdings Limited and a Director of Singapore Life. Additionally, he is an advisor to Oxford Sciences innovation, the venture capital unit at Oxford University. Previously, Mr. Richards was Partner and Global Head of Financial Services at Actis, one of the world’s leading and most ethical emerging market private equity groups. He also spent 18 years at Barclays in senior roles including CFO of the International Offshore Bank, Director of Group Strategy and Head of Group Corporate Development. Mr. Richards completed the Accelerated Development Program from London Business School, and Group Level Strategy from Ashridge Management College. He also attended the Leading Professional Services Firms Program at Harvard Business School.
